Friday 22 nov

It’s Friday again. It comes so quickly and I’ve still loads to do. The guys got most of the painting done on Tuesday and will be coming again today to finish something off.

I am off to Chez Bob to have lunch with my little cousin and my great great great nephew who is now one year old.

Strange week. Went to “Crisis” on Saturday, actors being real people acting out The Winter Of Discontent …1979 when a general strike was averted. The audience had to help acting out parts making phone calls and working out percentages and eventually taking part in a mock up TV show done on the premises. It was a whole lot more fun than I expected. I didn’t do a lot just handed out jobs in the new Cabinet. I avoided doing anything involving money.I have to say the actors were brilliant. They have to go on improvising until mid December. I was very interested to know where the audience came from. Anyone interested …the PR is Chloe Nelkin

.On Monday I saw We “are Arrested”. Brilliant story of corrupt government and a plea for honesty and free speech.
Wonderful performance by Peter Hamilton Dyer
Who was Can Dunbar telling his own story with Indra Ove and James Cameron playing all the rest of the characters.

Tuesday I went to the Sir Richard Steele for a meeting about Dignity in Dying. Some very interesting information about telling people what you want to happen at the end. You can get various forms from the company about legal matters. The one that I found most interesting is the one where you write down what you want to happen at the end. Last night I was told a story about a friend who was visiting someone on their death bed. They were having a joyful conversation, laughing at memories when the man’s wife came in and said he had to go because her husband needed rest – as if he wasn’t due for quite a lot of rest. The man died an hour later …not laughing. That is the kind of thing I would put on my form when I get it. I intend to do this asap!

Last night
I witnessed Colin Pinney and Noelle Rimington telling the interesting love story of Robert Louis Stevenson and his wife Fanny. This was at our local library where Colin often appears but he insists that this is his last appearance. They all retired to Chez Bob afterwards. I came home instead and fell into bed. Exhausted.
What a long story!
